Window 101

Low-E glass

Window Man’s exclusive high-performance energy source low e glass package is a state-of-the-art combination of three energy-efficient elements, creating energy efficient windows, each contributing to a superior glass unit that may help to pay for itself in energy savings through all seasons. This innovation results in excellent energy efficient windows in your home.

Low-E Glass Features

  • Improved winter and summer thermal comfort
  • Increased heating and cooling season energy and cost savings
  • Reduces peak loads for lower HVAC costs
  • Helps reduce window condensation
  • Helps deaden outside noise

Intercept™ Warm Edge Spacer

The Intercept Spacer System keeps the edges of glass windows warmer. Even with insulating glass, if the edges are not sealed properly, the insulation of the window as a whole may be compromised. The Intercept spacer creates a “warm edge” seal for superior insulation and reduced likelihood of condensation at the edges of the window.

Super Spacer

In every dual pane window, there is a spacer that separates the two panes of glass. Most windows use a metal bar to accomplish this. While that is a very common practice, it is not a very effective way to be energy efficient.

We all know that metal is a great conductor of heat and cold. Many of our windows employ a “super spacer” to separate the two panes of glass. This flexible synthetic material was developed by NASA to stop the transfer of heat and cold.

By using this material in our windows instead of a metal spacer, our windows can achieve an excellent energy rating. After all, if it’s good enough for the space shuttle, isn’t it what you want in your home?

Insulating Argon Gas

Argon gas is a colorless, odorless, nonflammable, nontoxic, inert gas sealed between the two panes of glass in your new residential windows. Heavier than air, and entirely safe for humans and animals, the argon gas provides an additional layer of insulation, increasing the energy-efficiency of the new windows, and also acting as a sound barrier.

Go Green

Window Man, Inc. is proud to be eco-friendly. We are EPA certified for lead based paint renovation. Our dedicated team protects the environment during any job requiring new residential windows that involve lead paint.

As we remove windows from a customer’s home, we recycle as many parts from old windows. We are committed to doing our part to protect the environment. Even better, by installing energy efficient windows, we are further reducing energy consumption and leaving a “green” planet for our children and your children.
